On the second day, journey to Taquile Island, renowned for its exquisite textiles, which are celebrated as Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. Explore the island’s artisan market, enjoy a lakeside lunch, and soak in the beautiful scenery.
Return to Puno by motorized boat in the afternoon, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel, having experienced a truly unforgettable cultural and natural journey on Lake Titicaca.
Itinerary
Start your two-day adventure with a visit to the Uros Islands in Lake Titicaca. We will pick you up at your hotel and head to the port of Puno, where we will board a motorized boat that will take us to the floating islands of the Uros. Here, you will learn about the construction techniques of the islands and the daily life of the Uros. You will be able to interact with the inhabitants and enjoy a ride on a reed raft (optional).
We will continue our trip to Amantani Island, one of the natural islands of Lake Titicaca. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by local families who will host you in their homes. You will enjoy a typical lunch and, in the afternoon, you will participate in a walk to the Pachatata and Pachamama temples, located on the peaks of the island. From here, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the lake and its surroundings.
In the evening, you will share a traditional dinner with your host family and have the opportunity to participate in a local festival with typical music and dance.
After breakfast, we will say goodbye to our host families and head towards Taquile Island. Upon arrival, we will explore this beautiful island known for its artisanal textiles, considered Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. We will take a walk to the center of the island, where we will visit the main square and the artisan market.
You will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with spectacular views of the lake. After exploring Taquile, we will return to Puno by motorized boat, arriving in the afternoon. We will drop you off at your hotel, completing an unforgettable cultural and natural experience on Lake Titicaca.
