Embark on an exciting morning adventure to the renowned Uros Islands on Lake Titicaca. We will pick you up early from your hotel and take you to the port of Puno, where we will board a motorized boat bound for the floating islands of the Uros.
Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly welcomed by the local families who inhabit these unique islands made entirely of reeds, a plant that thrives in the lake. Discover the traditional construction methods used to build the islands, homes, and boats, and gain insights into the daily life and culture of the Uros people.
Interact with the locals, learn about their customs, and, if you wish, enjoy a ride on a traditional reed raft. You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase handmade crafts as memorable souvenirs.
After your exploration, we will return to Puno and drop you off at your hotel, concluding a memorable and enriching morning on Lake Titicaca.
Itinerary
Start your day with an exciting visit to the iconic Uros Islands in Lake Titicaca. We will pick you up early at your hotel and head to the port of Puno, where we will board a motorized boat that will take us to the floating islands of the Uros.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by friendly local families who will welcome you to their islands made of reeds, an aquatic plant that grows in the lake. During your visit, you will learn about the ancient construction techniques of the islands and the daily life of the Uros. They will explain how they build their homes, boats and other artifacts using reeds.
You will have the opportunity to interact with the inhabitants, learn about their culture and traditions, and enjoy a ride on a traditional reed raft (optional). In addition, you can purchase local crafts as a souvenir of this unique experience.
After exploring the islands, we will return to Puno, where we will drop you off at your hotel, completing an enriching morning on Lake Titicaca.
