Set off early from Cusco on a journey to the south, heading towards the town of Checacupe. After a hearty breakfast in the area, we continue to the starting point of our hike. Unlike Vinicunca, the trek to Palcoyo is shorter and more accessible, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a less strenuous experience.
The hike takes us through stunning landscapes until we reach the three vibrant mountains of Palcoyo and the fascinating stone forest, a collection of unique natural rock formations. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views and ample time to explore and capture the beauty of the surroundings with your camera.
After a rewarding and enriching walk, we descend and savor a delicious lunch en route before returning to Cusco, reflecting on the day’s adventure and the incredible colors of Palcoyo.
